About Boronia and The Basin Community News

“Boronia and The Basin Community News” is a free monthly community newspaper distributed to over 12,000 premises in the 3154 and 3155 postcodes in the City of Knox.  This area of Victoria is part of the Kulin cultural nation, which occupied Central Victoria around Port Phillip Bay and into the upper reaches of the Golburn and Lodden Rivers. Knox stands on the edge of the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri and the Bunurong.  You can read more about the Wurundjeri lands HERE and the Bunurong HERE.   For further information please click HERE.

Our paper was established in 1994; voluntary energy has always been its driving force.  This energy is offered by over 100 people every month in production, delivery and behind the scenes organisation and distribution of more than 12,300 issues, on 11 months of every year.  To date over three million papers have been circulated.

We aim to provide the people of Boronia and The Basin an effective medium of communication, information and expression, and to promote community identity, cooperation and pride.  Our paper has both general interest and a public interest journalism.  It contains advertising for many local businesses, as well as for local, State and Federal Governments.

The political policy of the paper is strictly non-partisan.
We are always open to new voluntary contributions. You can be involved in many ways. Write an item of interest, submit a great photograph, send in a great story or a special recipe. Maybe you can help with the distribution of our paper. Maybe you have an interest or a talent which you can bring to the Committee of Management. Please contact our President or our Editor for any of these.
Views and comments expressed in this paper are not necessarily those of any member of BBCN Association unless acknowledged as such. Products and services listed or advertised in the paper should not be considered as endorsements.
